Pat Tillman Military Scholars Program – deadline February 28th 2023
This military scholarship provides essential financial support to those who have served or are currently serving in the military. The award covers all academic tuition and fees of up to $10,000 per academic year. In addition, recipients also gain access to a variety of career resources, including professional mentorship opportunities.
Eligibility requirements include being a current spouse of a veteran or active service members, which also includes surviving spouses. You must also be a full-time student attending a U.S. college or university and undertaking either an undergraduate degree or a graduate/professional degree.
Veterans United Foundation Scholarship – deadline February 28th 2023
The Veterans United Foundation provides an incredible opportunity for veterans and their family members to pursue higher education. Award amounts can vary depending on financial need, but can award up to $20,000 per applicant. With award amounts this generous, it’s no wonder many successful veterans have already taken advantage of this unique scholarship opportunity.
If you would like to apply, you must be a surviving spouse of a fallen military member from a service-related death. You must also be:
- Planning or currently enrolled in an accredited university or college for the next semester
- Undertaking an associate’s, bachelor’s, graduate, post-graduate or doctoral degree
- Agreeable in sharing personal goals and stories with the Foundation
- Able to provide invoices or receipts in relation to academic costs
- Able to complete a background check (if required)
- Able to supply the below following your application:
- Government-issued photo ID
- Proof of enrolment
- Full FAFSA submission
- Official benefit letter showing disability rating (if relevant)
- Deceased spouse’s military documents (DD214 and death certificate /or DD1300)
Mimi Mayes Military Spouse Scholarship – deadline August 1st 2023
Columbia Southern University awards one scholarship per year to honor the sacrifices made by family members of those in the military and awards up to $26,100 for both current and future students of the university undertaking one online degree. This award covers tuition fees for up to three years, or until program completion.

- Have a GED or equivalent
- Able to commence coursework within 90 days of the award being granted
- Must be able to maintain a 3.0 graduate or 2.0 undergraduate GPA. Applicants who have attended college previously must meet the University’s requirements for admission
- Must maintain a good reputation with the University throughout your entire program
- Must be continually enrolled in a degree program
- Current students of the University must have already met these requirements to be considered.
MyCAA Scholarship – no deadline
The MyCAA Scholarship, run by the Department of Defense, is an amazing opportunity for married military spouses. This initiative awards up to $4,000 to cover training and certification required to pursue a career in a portable professional field.
To meet the criteria, you must be a military spouse of a member in active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-2, and must have graduated from high school. Those applying whilst their military sponsor are qualifying Title 10 military orders are eligible. Finally, those married to National Guard members and reserves in these same pay brackets can also apply.
This program welcomes applicants all year round.
ThanksUSA Scholarship Program – no deadline
This military spouse scholarship awards multiple applicants up to $3,000 per year (depending on financial need), with preferences offered to children or spouses of fallen or injured military members.
To be eligible, you must be a dependent child or spouse of a U.S. military member, and applicants will be picked based on academic record, financial need, leadership capabilities, a goal statement, and community and school activity participation.
Applications are open all year round and awards are granted on a quarterly basis.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Scholarship – deadline June 2023
The NMCRS supports the families of military service members in meeting their academic goals through financial support, including scholarships. Awards are granted based on financial need, range from $500 to $3000, and students can reapply each academic year.
You can apply if you’re a spouse of an active duty or retired Marine or Sailor.
Michael J. Burns Military Children Scholarship – deadline September 1st 2023
This military scholarship honors Michal J. Burns, who obtained a degree after leaving the military. This program awards $1,200 to any family member, including spouses, of those working in the military to help in supporting them reaching their academic goals.
Spouse/Caregiver Scholarship Program – deadline April 20th 2023
This military spouse scholarship recognizes and awards spouses of post-9/11 veterans for their resilience and strength after the impact of this event on their families. Awardees can receive up to $50,000 per academic year depending on financial need.
Fortunately, any family member of a person working in the military, including spouses, can apply.
NMFA Military Spouse Scholarships – no deadline
This military scholarship prides itself on having an accessible application process and awardees can expect to receive between $500 – $2,500.
To apply, you must be a spouse of a post-9/11 military member or a 20/020/20 spouse, and you must have (or eligible to hold) a valid Uniformed Services/military ID.
The program welcomes applications all year round and awards are announced quarterly.
Folds of Honour Scholarship – deadline March 31st 2023
This program supports families of military members to receive the opportunities and education they deserve. Scholarship awards are up to $5,000 and applicants are welcomed to reapply each academic year.
Applicants must have a current Military ID or a State-Issued Marriage License.
