Marriot International is a Maryland-based lodging giant with over 5,700 locations worldwide. The organization is committed in providing long-term support to DECA in creating scholarship opportunities for hospitality and tourism students.

Marriott International Scholarship Program

DECA’s scholarship program provides over $200,000 scholarships to high school and college DECA members at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) each year. Marriott International Scholarships for college are presented to five (5) eligible DECA members who have an interest in the hospitality and tourism industry. Each selected candidate will receive a $2,000 scholarship grant.

Applicants may also consider Otis Spunkmeyer Scholarship which offers three (3) $1,000 scholarships to DECA members who work in their school stores and sell Otis Spunkmeyer products, and NAPA Auto Parts Scholarship which awards $1,000 to applicants with interest in agricultural parts/aftermarket.

Eligibility

The following requirements must be satisfied to be eligible for this scholarship opportunity:

• A U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States
• Enrolled as a full-time undergrads at accredited colleges for hospitality and hotel management majors
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA or greater
