Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarships

Shell is a global energy company with approximately 87,000 employees in over 70 countries. Shell offers scholarship opportunities to selected students pursuing college degrees in certain engineering or geosciences discipline.


Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship Program

Administered by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), the Shell Oil company grants scholarships for college to provide financial and career assistance to graduating high school seniors who have expressed an interest in the energy industry and shown competence in mathematics and science. Up to 20 graduating high school seniors will receive $2,500 scholarships from Shell as part of each program. The fund may be renewed for $5,000 every year following their first year.

The Shell Oil Technical Scholarship Program supports Shell’s goal of ensuring a trained workforce in engineering and geosciences disciplines in the coming years.


The following requirements must be satisfied to be eligible for this scholarship opportunity:

  • A U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States
  • Planning to enroll in an accredited institution full-time with majors like geology, geophysics, physics, chemistry, or petroleum engineering
  • Member of an underrepresented minority group: Black (Not of Hispanic Origin), Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaskan Native, and must self-identify as such on the application.
