Walmart Scholarship

Walmart is one of the most famous retail chains in the United States. They sponsor a variety of charitable initiatives, including scholarships for current employees and their dependents through Walmart Foundation.  Walmart has been providing scholarship opportunities since 1981 and strongly supports many national scholarship programs such as the United Negro College Fund, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the National Indian Education Association, and the National Urban League. 

Walmart Scholarship Programs

The scholarship opportunities are available to both employees and dependents. Successful applicants will be chosen by the Scholarship Program Administrators (SPA) based on their financial need, academic performance, and involvement in their schools and communities.

 

Walmart Associate Scholarship â€“ This scholarship program supports full-time or part-time Walmart employees enrolled in an accredited community college or university. Applicants must be employed by the company for at least 6 months and must provide proof of necessary financial need.

 

Walmart Dependent Scholarship â€“ This scholarship program provides assistance to graduating high school seniors whose parents or legal guardians are employees of the Walmart Corporation. Applicants must be enrolled in, or preparing to attend an accredited college or university, and must demonstrate the required level of financial need. This scholarship program grants a maximum award amount of $3,200 per academic year.

 

Eligibility

Walmart grants scholarships for college to both qualified associates and dependents. The following requirements must be satisfied to be eligible for this scholarship opportunity:

  • A U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States
  • Employees must have worked full-time or part-time for at least 6 months
  • Dependents must be a graduating high school senior
  • A minimum GPA of 2.5
