McDonald’s Scholarships

Since 1985, McDonalds has given eligible students college scholarships through a number of college scholarship funds. Scholarships for people from underrepresented groups including Hispanics, African Americans, and those from Asia and the Pacific Islanders are among them. Through its Archways to Opportunity program, McDonald’s additionally provides financial aid for students who work for the company. This has provided an opportunity for scholarships for highschool seniors as well as scholarship opportunities for those who need them.

McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship Program

Up to 30 deserving Hispanic students from across the nation will receive scholarships through the McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship Program. There are three kinds of funding with the intention of helping recipients pay for their college tuition. Recipients of Tier 1 will receive up to $100,000. Tier 3 honorees will receive $5,000, while Tier 2 recipients will get $20,000 or $10,000. The criteria used to choose recipients include their academic success, involvement in the community, personal statement, and financial need. For the academic year 2023–2024, sixty three scholars will be chosen to earn a scholarship of up to $15,000 ($7,500 per semester), which can only be used to verify the expenses of standard tuition and usual fees. This provides an opportunity for scholarships for highschool seniors.

McDonalds Asia Pacific Islander Scholarships

One of the sponsors of the APIA Scholarship, which is available to AANHPI undergraduate students enrolled in any approved U.S. institution or university, is McDonald’s. Scholarships range in value from $2,500 for a single year to $20,000 for multiple years.

The primary goal of APIA is to assist AANHPI students who are underrepresented on college campuses as a result of a lack of opportunities and access. For instance, candidates that are at or below the poverty level, are the first in their family to attend college, and/or represent the geographic and racial variety of the APIA community will make good candidates.

Strong candidates would also place a strong emphasis on leadership and volunteerism.

McDonalds Archways to Opportunity Employee Tuition Assistance Program

All qualified McDonald’s employees are eligible for tuition assistance. The funds may be used to supplement the cost of college courses completed at “authorized schools,” such as two- or four-year public or private colleges or universities, as well as graduate or post-graduate institutions recognized by the Department of Education.

The tuition and course fees for qualified courses that are not covered by scholarships or grants are paid for by tuition assistance through Archways to Opportunity.
