The primary goal of APIA is to assist AANHPI students who are underrepresented on college campuses as a result of a lack of opportunities and access. For instance, candidates that are at or below the poverty level, are the first in their family to attend college, and/or represent the geographic and racial variety of the APIA community will make good candidates.
Strong candidates would also place a strong emphasis on leadership and volunteerism.
